Subject: Add “Production Style” Presets with Compact Acronyms

Hi Songer Team,

I’m running into the 100-character limit in the genre field when trying to express not just genre, but also production style (e.g., Wall of Sound vs. Abbey Road–style clarity). These are distinct and materially affect arrangement, layering, and mix.

Request: Add a separate “Production Style” field with selectable presets and short, standardized acronyms to minimize character usage.

Why this helps

  • Keeps the genre field focused on sound category

  • Adds a second control layer for arrangement/mix philosophy

  • Reduces prompt length while improving consistency

  • Aligns with how producers actually think (genre vs. production approach)

Suggested Implementation

  • Dropdown + optional text field

  • Each preset has:

    • Full name (UI)

    • Acronym (2–4 chars, user-visible)

    • Internal mapping (model weights/behaviors)

Example Presets

  • WoS — Wall of Sound (dense, reverberant layering)

  • ARS — Abbey Road–style (clean, layered, orchestral, stereo clarity)

  • NC — Nashville Clean (tight, polished, radio-ready country)

  • LC — Laurel Canyon (acoustic, harmony-driven West Coast)

  • MT — Motown (groove-forward, tight rhythm section)

  • AR — Arena Rock (big choruses, wide dynamics)

  • MP — Modern Pop (polished, contemporary mix)

Usage Example

  • Genre: Americana | Yacht Rock | Ballad

  • Production Style: ARS

  • Vocals (prompt): Angel lead, Bear harmony

This separation would significantly improve control without increasing prompt length.

Thanks for considering—this would be a big workflow win.

Best,
Barry
